Spring Mid-term Break in Galway 2012

Many schools are closing for a few days in February between the 13th and 17th, and some are closed for the whole week.

Here are some ideas for things to do in Galway over the mid-term break.

Check out the events listings. These are updated as new events are announced so don't forget to check back.

There aren't that many camps taking place this midterm, but the Galway Atlantaquaria is running The Power of the Ocean and Ocean's Fury one day workshops.

If we get a nice fine spring day, then a trip to your local playground is always a treat.

Or why not pack a picnic, complete with a flask of soup or hot chocolate, and head off for a walk? Search our outdoor activities section for parks and fun places to visit, and our family walks article for some good suggestions. And if the weather is too bad to be outdoors, we have some suggestions for things to do on a Rainy Day.

The cinema is always a hit, and we have lots of choice with the Eye cinema and the omniplex in Oranmore and Galway.

Get creative! The Texaco Art Competition is a national art competition for children. Entries close on February 24th, so this might be something to do early in the week.
