Family Walks in Cavan
Cavan has plenty of walks be it along lakes and rivers or through forests and over Drumlins....there is a walk to interest everyone. Keep in mind the appropriate length of the walk for your children and make sure to bring drinks and snacks with you!
For Smaller children, why not try either Belturbet Town Trail or Cootehill Town Trail, as these follow sites of interest around the towns there are plenty of facilities close to hand...don't forget bread for the ducks in Belturbet!
Deerpark Forest Walk in Virginia is an easier walk with good pathways through the woods and along the lakeshore.
Burren Loops, Blacklion is another of the easier walks for slightly older children, with Megalithic tombs to explore and Picnic Tables for little rests.
Aughvains/Drumbriste is rated as moderate taking approximately 1.5 hours and stretching 7km along lanes, through bogs, forests & lakeshores (please be careful on the lanes as they can be busy at times).
If there are any other great walks that you love to take with your family please let me know so we can add them.
